ATL: Help! I lost my rental car key!
Ask The Locksmith Question:
Hi, I lost the ignition key to a 2005 Dodge Neon rental car. Can you do a replacement? Do you need the VIN# for the car? How much will it cost? Need more info from me?
Did your rental car key have a GREY or BLACK plastic head?
If it was GREY, it was a transponder/chip key, and the 2005 requires specific programming equipment. We currently do not have that computer.
If it was a BLACK head, it is a standard key, and we can make a single replacement for $75.00, and two for $95 (the normal rate for replacement keys) -- We offer you the option of one only as it was a rental car, and you probably only had one to begin with. :)
Please let us know if we can send someone out to help. If you want us to make new keys, state law requires that we need to physically verify your rental agreement, and a drivers license to match (the actual renter HAS to be present with these items.)
